Roses fundraiser takes a gap year

The Wakefield Educational Foundation's Chocolate Roses fundraiser is a cherished annual tradition for Wakefield students, teachers and families to celebrate Valentine's Day. Due to logistical challenges related to the pandemic, WEF regrets that it must take a year off from this sweet tradition. WEF would like to thank the many supporters of this fundraiser over the years and fully expects Roses to return next year.

This year, WEF will host a few virtual events that are fun, family-friendly, and will help WEF meet fundraising goals. Keep an eye on this site, the WEF Facebook page, and the Daily Item, to ensure you don't miss the opportunity to participate.

In addition, you can support WEF with a general donation. With limitations to fundraising efforts this year coupled with necessary and urgent demands for funding everywhere, WEF appreciates any donation, large or small, to continue to enhance educational excellence in the Wakefield Public Schools.

To support the grant process, WEF receives generous funding from key local business partners, private donors, and a series of annual fundraisers. WEF has awarded over $400,000 across the Wakefield Public Schools district since 1989. Learn more by following WEF on Twitter or Facebook, or at WEF01880.org.
