WEF positioned for record-breaking grant cycle
WEF expects to match or exceed grant awards from previous years, with over $30,000 available for the 2021-22 school year. Detailed requirements and the proposal template are available at WEF01880.org/Grants. All grants need to be submitted by October 22, 2021.
Teachers, administrators, and PTOs in the Wakefield Public Schools are encouraged to apply for projects, materials and presentations that support and enhance curriculum but fall outside this year’s school budget. Grants must support enrichment, environmental and innovation/technology programs and impact a group of students in the Wakefield Public Schools.
The benefitting group may be as small as a single class, or as large as the total school district population. Stand-alone grant requests are encouraged. However, large-scale programs which can be divided among several funding sources will also be considered.
Grant awards will be made in November.
WEF expresses gratitude for all the businesses and individuals whose generous partnership and donations make this grant process possible, and gives special recognition to:

WEF is thrilled to return to their traditional grant process this school year. In the challenging 2020-21 school year, WEF modified its grant and provided one consolidated $25,000 grant to the district for the purchase of technology to enhance the remote learning experience for teachers and students.
To augment grant funds, WEF also conducts a series of annual fundraisers, such as: WEF’s Wakefield Public Schools Calendar, showcasing student art; the S.T.A.R.S. program, recognizing exemplary WPS staff; Chocolate Roses; and the Adult Spelling Bee. WEF has awarded over $400,000 to schools across the Wakefield Public Schools district since its inception over 30 years ago, in 1989.
